Take-A-Hike for Elisha House Fundraiser
Join our first ever Hike-a-thon and take in the natural beauty of the Niagara Bruce Trail! Gather a team of family members (or friends) or simply hike in solitude. Take your hike any time between July 16th and August 31st. We've divided up the trail into eleven sections of varying difficulty and length. Select the section that suits you or your team best and watch the event page for updates as we attempt to collectively cover the entire Bruce Trail! Collect pledges and help us reach our goal of $5K. You'll be entered to win prizes in in a number of categories for best including most funds raised--all the funds will go towards helping women and families in need of counselling and unplanned pregnancy support!
Step #1 - Pick a Trail Section to Hike
The entire Niagara Bruce Trail has been divided up in to eleven sections. They range from 4-10 Km in length and vary in difficulty. Some are great for families with young children and others are for the advanced hiker. See the trail sections page to read more information about each section and decide which one you plan to complete by August 31st.
Step #2 - Register
All that's needed to register is your name, contact info and the trail section you plan to complete. The only commitment we ask is that you collect some pledges or sponsor yourself and complete your hike by August 31st.
You will have the option of submitting team information after you have registered. We will need each team member to complete an individual registration form.
There's no registration fee so go ahead and register now!
Step #3 - Gather your Team
You have the option of completing the hike on your own or (to make things more fun) with a team of family or friends! Teams can be 4-6 people. There will be prizes for a number of categories including, best team name, team photo and most funds raised.
Tell your family and friends and see who would like to join you. Come up with a creative team name and plan a time when you will complete your hike. Once you've have each registered, select a "Team Captain" to submit the team's information.
We will keep the "Teams" page and Facebook page updated so that you can see each team's progress in the collective completion of the Niagara Bruce Trail!
Step #4 - Get Sponsors
You can choose to sponsor yourself by donating as an individual or you can collect sponsors for your hike.
Once you register, you will receive a downloadable pledge form to track your sponsors and a shareable link & QR code for online donations.
There is a prize category for the most funds raised to give an incentive to collect pledges, but it's really up to you how simple or involved you want to be with obtaining sponsors.

Step #5 - Share Photos!
Make sure to visit our Facebook event page and tap one of the 2 blue buttons at the top--Interested or Going--to get event notifications. Also tap "Invite" to easily send facebook invites to your friends, asking them to either sponsor you, join your team or form their own team to Take-A-Hike-4-EH!
